UK premiere station Channel 4 was launched on 2nd November 1982. It is a publicly-owned, commercially-funded public service broadcaster with a remit to be innovative, experimental and distinctive across the film and television platforms. It is arguably the best developer and promoter of arts and current affairs programming, at least in Europe.
Chiaroscuro is probably the only journal treating everything created, exhibited or performed by an artist or craftsperson as art. This includes all functional design forms, such as fashion, carpentry, cars and aircraft... not to mention its extraordinary travel and society sections. It is also the only the only truly international journal anywhere on the web.
