Book Description:
During World War II both the US and Great Britain developed large and sophisticated nursing services to deal with the casualities of the war. In the US these consisted of the US Army Nursing Corps and the Naval Nursing Corps. In Great Britain the organizations were Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service and its sister organization Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service for the Navy and Army respectively. The RAF was cared for by Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service. This volume contains a detailed study that looks at the uniforms and organization of these services and their work at home and overseas.
