From the Shoreline is above all a celebration through brilliant photography of a beloved and outstandingly beautiful area. Amid Janice Alamanou’s captivating landscapes of Norfolk, she also tells the story of becoming a professional photographer and her passion for photography, including observations of the coast, the wider environment and the people within it – mixed with a little technical detail and characteristic humour.  Norfolk has been the home to generations of her family and it was the scene of her own childhood, adventurous and daring. She began learning about and documenting nature, its joys and perils, from being let loose on the beaches and salt marshes as her playground.
